Mud Cloth is a fabric-making tradition born in the west Saharan region of Mali. A fabric of significant cultural meaning in Mali, the Mud Cloth was historically created by both men and women. The men would prepare the fabric, and the women would oversee the intricate dying process using mud, leaves and branches to create the detailed designs. The Mud Cloth, Tricolor is a beautiful combination of earthen ochre, brown, black and white colorings. Assorted patterns includes diamond-shape frames filled with an alternating cross pattern and more organic compositions. Use decoratively or as a scarf.
